A moment for “Past Works”

Past months have been a whirlwind. In March I started an experiment in solopreneurship with an AI as my partner:

And it turned out well enough to become the most successful of such experiments (see the outcomes and learnings here!).

Later we encountered a month of trouble and hard work as a new big client collapsed financially. But we also got to host the finest Future Horizon leadership gathering yet!

I’ve been invited to give a bunch of talks about my AI journey, including just yesterday when I gave my latest update to a group of YPO leaders with my findings.

See the presentation here (password: future). I’ll update when I receive a recording from the talk. The yesterday’s talk included a soft announcement too. With out further a-do…

🥁🥁🥁💥

James Hurst is new Human Partner at Future Works!

We are being joined by a very special human. Formerly an advisor to my agency HOO KOO E KOO and now… a Partner in Future Works.

Former Head of Brand Google will lead the charge together with us at Future Works

James Hurst was Head of Brand Design at Google until a couple of months ago, since then he built Future Cards — an AI tool that can help drive strategy for brands.

Previously he was Global Creative Director at Pinterest and before that he led DesignStudio who designed small things like Airbnb, Twitter and Champions League...

I am so, so honored. And can’t wait to see what this brings.

And so far, it is bringing a new thing, which I did not even expect at the time of the experiment:

Future Works 2.0!

Today we’re launching a new website but also a brand new direction. In our exploration of the last months we realized that implementing AI is not about all the new shiny tools, not so much about size of models or snazzy integrations.

Implementing AI to transform business is all about humans. And this is where we’ll focus now!

The concept is thoughfully simple:

The 3 steps of transformation with Future Works.

We team up with leaders at companies that want to transition into the new reality and dive deep with their teams to uncover opportunities.

We look inside a business to understand where they’ve been, where they’re going & why. We look outside that business & get smart about how we accelerate getting you where you need your business to be.

This will inform our proprietary 30-day AI challenge where we help your business understand how technology can be used to accelerate innovation & impact.

We finish by co-creating a a bespoke roadmap co-created with your team helping you capture opportunities of near future.

Next up!

Next weeks will being multiple new announcements and updates, we are now deep in interviews with some special humans who will be joining our team to further our capability as well as talking to first clients to bring on.

We’re also hard at work further improving the capabilities that Future Works 1.0 brought (AI powered professional services delivery!) and rolling them out to other parts of our Liminal Future Group concept (which will also see some exciting developments).

I’m especially proud of what is coming for HOO KOO E KOO as its capabilities are increasing by the day.

I’d love to hear from you on this new direction! Just drop me a message.
